Big News for Brooklin: Lowlands Fire Food Is Opening a Brick & Mortar Location

There’s something special about seeing a local favourite take the next big step, and this one is definitely worth sharing.

Lowlands Fire Food, the team behind those incredible wood-fired pizzas you’ve probably seen popping up around the region, is officially opening a brick-and-mortar location right here in Brooklin. The new spot, Lowlands Kitchen & Bar, will be located at 67 Baldwin Street, with plans to open their doors next month.

What makes this even better is the collaboration. Lowlands is teaming up with Town Brewery, which means their new space will be serving up those signature wood-fired pies alongside Town beer on tap. That combination alone feels like it was made for a relaxed night out in the downtown core.

But this opening is about more than just good food.

When a local business chooses to put down permanent roots, especially in a smaller downtown like Brooklin, it’s a big deal. Brick-and-mortar openings bring foot traffic, energy, and momentum to main streets. They help other nearby businesses thrive, encourage people to spend time locally, and give the community another place to gather, connect, and support one another.

It also says a lot about Brooklin itself. Businesses don’t open physical locations unless they believe in the area. Openings like this are a sign of confidence in the community and its continued growth. As Brooklin evolves, having locally owned food and drink spots helps keep its character intact rather than turning it into just another pass-through town.

Town Brewery shared the news recently and is even running a fun giveaway, encouraging people to tag a friend they’d bring to the new spot for a chance to win a gift card. The excitement in the comments says a lot. People are ready for this.

If you’ve followed Locally Durham for any length of time, you know this is exactly the kind of story I love sharing. Local businesses growing, collaborating, and choosing our communities first.

Lowlands Kitchen & Bar already feels like it’s going to be one of those go-to spots. The kind of place you meet friends after work, recommend when family visits, or pop into on a weekend without overthinking it.

I’ll be keeping an eye on their official opening date and sharing updates as they come. Until then, give @lowlandsfirefood a follow and keep this one on your radar.

Another local win for Durham.
